A Look Back at 2019 and The Year to Come at Gruene Estate

Ya’ll, 2019 went by so fast. It was such a fabulous year, and we were so lucky to work with such great couples. This year we saw lots of change for the better at Gruene Estate. Always striving to bring you the best in wedding content, inspiration, and the best real weddings in Texas, we updated our facilities and are proud to announce that we are going to being offering new wedding products and packages for 2020. As we have learned over the last eight years, creating a wedding venue is the easy part, staying ahead of the curve and being innovative is the real challenge. Our updated pavilion is a huge improvement, and offers brides the right amount of rustic elegance!

Trends change, and it was time that we updated the pavilion to match the chapel and bridal suite houses. The common theme here at Gruene Estate is white, and while we loved our pavilion the way it was, we felt it was a little too rustic. The trend of rustic barn weddings and burlap table runners is passed. By painting the interior rafters white, updating our bar area, replacing the chandeliers with silver patinaed candle holders, and adding more string lights to the ceiling, we achieved our goal of staying true to our rustic roots, but shifting to a more contemporary bridal look. One that straddles the line between rustic and elegant. The string lights are the perfect touch to the ceiling, giving it a subtle nod to a Gruene Hall/dance hall ambiance. The new lighting sets the mood for an authentic wedding reception.

In addition to the pavilion updates, we also added gas powered radiant heaters that are available for an extra charge. These are so much more efficient then the portable patio heaters from years past. Brides needed to let us know several days before an event whether or not they needed heaters for the evening, and this took a lot of coordinating. Adding these units to the ceiling of the pavilion gives us better heating coverage as well as the option to turn them on at the last minute. It is a game changer for events in the cool weather months.

For the new year, we are so excited to announce that we will be offering new wedding products during certain times of the year in the form of boutique wedding packages at both Gruene Estate and the Historic Ludwig house in downtown New Braunfels. Boutique weddings are a trend that we have seen in the last year that, are ideal for a guest count in the 30-50 ppl range. They are limited in the scope of the wedding, but it allows brides to create a high-end guest experience and concentrate their budget on the smaller wedding party.

We are so thankful for such a wonderful 2019, and we cannot wait for 2020. We will continue to bring ya’ll innovative new wedding products and the best in real Texas weddings at Gruene Estate.
